Steel Girder Shipper

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Compares identifying information and counts, weights, or measures all outgoing items to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
• Packs and loads all outgoing shipments to insure safe transport
• Operates crane or other equipment to move, convey, or hoist items from shipping staging area unto truck or railcar
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
• Will potentially be required to dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with acceptable disposal methods, load trucks with waste, and alert appropriate personnel in case of spill. Will attend hazardous communications training initially and HAZWOPER training annually.
• Must be willing to cross train in Level 1 & 2 jobs, including painting.

QUALIFICATIONS 

• Previous experience in shipping/receiving function
• Familiarity with data entry and computers
• Attention to detail and follow-up
• Ability and/or experience in material movement with cranes and fork lifts
