Steel Girder Fitter Helper

4-Day Work Week on 2nd Shift. Monday - Thursday.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Helps Fitter lay-out, measure, position, align, and fit components together per shop drawings.
• Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding or CNC operations.
• Repairs components by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and assembling parts.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
• Regular attendance is an essential function of the job

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be able to effectively interpret blueprints.
• Able to interpret and transfer imperial and metric measurement data from blueprints and, if necessary, make needed calculations to properly fit bridge components together.
• Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with co-workers.
• Previous experience in fitting structural steel/metal fabrication preferred.
• Attention to detail and follow-up.
• Must be able to operate a forklift.
