Sales Engineer / Territory Manager

Stupp Bridge Company is offering a remote opportunity in our sales engineering group! Join the 165-year family business from where you live. Use your bridge industry experience to manage a multi-state sales territory and provide technical support on new and upcoming bridge projects. The candidate will work from home and be responsible for all sales and marketing activities within their assigned territory around where they live.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and manage relationships with current and prospective customers, DOT owners, private owners and bridge designers
  • Approximately 15 to 25% overnight travel for sales calls and other marketing activities
  • Create and submit bid proposals for plate girder fabrication opportunities
  • Monitor, record and advise on both long and short term prospective bid opportunities within a multi-state territory.
  • Analyze market conditions and report to management
  • Actively communicate and work closely with Estimating, Project Management, and Operations Departments
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations to present to large or small groups on steel bridge topics at industry conferences and trade shows as well as at customer locations
  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent written, on-line, and face-to-face communication skills
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Must be confident, self-motivated and take responsibility of meeting goals
  • Ability to work with others. Candidate will at times be both a team leader and a team member.
  • Ability to analyze marketing data and identify trends
  • Ability to read and interpret technical design drawings

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree with preference for prior bridge industry experience (DOT, General Contractor, Bridge Designer)

WORK ENVIRONMENT Work from your home office located within the assigned territory

SOFTWARE PROFICIENCY MS Office Suite w/advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint Teams and Outlook. Adobe Acrobat. Ability to learn Salesforce for contacts & opportunities management. Experience with commercially available marketing software products is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Superior verbal and written communication skills

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Strong background

REASONING ABILITY Judgments should reflect sound reasoning and business practicality

PHYSICAL DEMANDS General office with an ability to travel.
