QC Inspector - 2nd Shift

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Measure centerlines and reference points to verify initial and assembly layout and machine setup.
• Verify physically the size of materials such as plates, structural shapes, and components produced by fabricating machines.
• Verify holes, stiffener and bearing devices for correct placement/sizes.
• Maintain heat number traceability of all materials throughout the fabrication process.
• Examines finished products for rough edges, cracks, any weld discontinuities and appearance/profile.
• Marks and documents parts for acceptance or rejection.
• Records and reports inspection results on company in house forms.
• Monitors in-process welding operations to compliance with welding procedures.
• Capable of interpretation of codes and specifications.
• Effectively communicate with members and outside inspectors.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Have or be willing to attain AWS Certified Welding Inspector and Non-Destructive Testing Certifications.
• Have ability to effectively interpret blueprints.
• Ability to transfer imperial and metric measurement data from blueprints.
• Knowledgeable in FCAW, SAW, and SMAW welding processes.
• Ability to accurately interpret AWS and AISC codes and standards.
