Human Resources Assistant

SUMMARY/KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


The Human Resources Assistant provides general administrative support to the HR team, focusing on maintaining employee records, assisting with benefits, and processing basic HR transactions. The Human Resources Assistant will support various HR functions that contribute to the overall efficiency of the HR department that ensure a positive employee experience.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Assists in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews and following up with candidates.
  • Coordinates and delivers new hire orientations and ensures a smooth onboarding experience for all employees. Assists new employees with benefit enrollments.
  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc. Refers more complex questions to appropriate the Human Resources Manager or other members of management.
  • Compiles and processes employee documentation and records and maintains HRIS systems, completes I-9 forms and manages E-Verify.
  • Coordinates and executes planning of special events such as employee recognition events, holiday events, etc.
  • Is responsible for maintaining the eBulletin Board.
  • Interacts with a multi-cultural population of diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, levels of education and ages.
  • Assists with various research projects and/or special projects.
  • Responsible for office administration duties.
  • All other duties assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Complete work both independently and through others in a timely manner.
  • Undertake self-development activities. Take independent action. Ask for and offer assistance whenever needed.
  • Ability to interact professionally with others, including co-workers, vendors, customers, and industry professionals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to handle recruiting activities effectively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).
  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems.
  • Working knowledge of basic labor laws.
  • Professional attitude.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE – High school diploma required. Two years' experience in a human resources environment preferred.
